Due to
the fact that my mother read and talked to me as a small child, I could
talk in sentences by 71/2 months. I can remember my mother reading
to me most of my early childhood and this continued until I was in kindergarden.
I would follow her around with a book saying "read this to me."
I always
had her to read to me and I did not see the reason to try to learn how
by myself. Then the day came!! I found a chapter book about
my favorite thing--horses. I begged her to read it to me, but
she had began working longer hours and was very tired. She told me
that if I wanted to know what happened to the horse that I would have to
learn to read. I became very upset!! I wanted to know right then!
My little fit did not even bother my mom, she stuck to her guns.
So, I learned to read to show my mom that I could, but mostly I wanted
to learn what happened to the little gray colt named Cloud.
